WHAT IS FUTSAL?

Futsal is a fun, fast-paced game on a small indoor court (about basketball court size). It uses speed, agility, and accuracy, to control a smaller ball that’s heavier and less bouncy than a traditional soccer ball.

All that means young footballers really grow when they start playing futsal. Skills quickly sharpen, since they touch the ball about six times more than in an outdoor soccer game on a big field. To control the heavier, smaller ball, they develop excellent foot skills, speed, and agility. They can’t be afraid of the defense–it’s right there in front of them in a small space!

Futsal demands mental skills too: the game changes quickly, so players must think fast and be creative.

Any soccer skill you can name (beautiful dribbles, accuracy, and creativity, to name a few!) are all strongly developed by playing futsal. That’s why it’s an integral part of our program. Of course, it’s so fun that your child will probably want to keep playing it year-round alongside regular soccer.
